Our industry has changed rapidly over the past years, just like the world around us. From the global financial crisis to the recent pandemic, external circumstances are forcing us to reevaluate our actions and goals. The key to success, when dealing with these circumstances, is to take a close look at our hospitality DNA. Which strands of our DNA should we put emphasis on? Do we remain focussed on being a people-oriented business? Are soft skills really of enormous added value? Or is it perhaps time to look at our industry from a different perspective? How should we deal with the consequences of a crisis? What does the future of the hospitality industry look like?

Hotel Management School NHL Stenden wins EMCup 2022!

The 14th edition of the European Mise en place Cup (EMCup) took place on Sunday April 24th and Monday April 25th in the gastronomic city of Maastricht. This edition revolved around the theme “Intrapreneurship - The salvation of our hospitality DNA?” The winner of the EMCup 2022 is Hotel Management School NHL Stenden from the Netherlands, followed by Saxion - also from the Netherlands and The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management from Dubai. These winners left 28 other schools behind. More than 126 students participated during two exciting competitions days in Maastricht.
